Several thousand fans witnessed an excellent performance by the Toronto Leafs at the Arena Hockey Shop Saturday night. The Leafs provided about as pleasing a bit of entertainment as has been enjoyed in any pro game here this season. They handed the Flying Frenchmen the short end of a 5 to 3 score, in a game that was replete with speed and good hockey, and enough thrills to send the fans away singing its praises.

The Canadiens lost their third straight game at home tonight when the Toronto Leafs scored a 4 to 3 victory over the Red Shirts. It was a hectic struggle, with the Canadiens making a last period rally which just fell short of tying the score. The Leafs held a 4 to 1 advantage at the conclusion of the second session, having controlled the play for the two periods, and having scored two goals in each frame.

A Joliat-Morenz rush along the left boards after three minutes’ overtime play broke up a 1-1 deadlock in the Toronto Maple Leafs-Canadiens National Hockey League game here tonight. Joliat scored the winning goal and Morenz was credited with an assist. The 2-1 win put the local team in the leadership of the Canadian section.
