The Torontos tonight won the championship of the NHL, and the right to play the Pacific Coast League champions for the Stanley Cup, when the Canadiens failed to wipe out the four goal lead which the Queen City team secured on their own ice in the first of the home and home games Monday night. The Canadiens won tonight’s match by 4 to 3, leaving the complete score for the series Torontos 10, Canadiens 7.

Not to be outdone by the Food Controller, the Fuel Controller and other dignitaries who have decreed certain “less” days, the Toronto professional team of the National Hockey League decided to turn in a “scoreless” game, presenting last night’s fixture at the Arena to the Canadiens by a score of 9 to 0.

The Canadiens won an easy victory over Toronto here Saturday night by 5 to 1. The visitors, who evidently were tired after their journey from Toronto, having been on the train from 11 o’clock Friday night until near 6 o’clock Saturday evening, were outplayed at every stage of the game.
