Randy Cunneyworth’s hunch paid off.

Cunneyworth had scratched rookie defenceman Raphael Diaz in Pittsburgh on Friday night, but opted to dress him and sit Yannick Weber instead in Toronto. Diaz rewarded his coach by scoring the go-ahead goal early in the third period as the Montréal Canadiens beat the Leafs 3-1 at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday.
